It’s no big deal, lots of people have it and never know it. They just give you an iv of antibiotics when you go into labor. I had it with my first but haven’t since then. My dr said it can come and go.

I had it with both of my kids..
No biggie it’s very common. When you go into labor they will give you meds

I believe it’s just common bacteria normally found in the gut. No biggie. You’re just given some medicine so the infection doesn’t spread to the baby.
The only reason the common bacteria is a concern during pregnancy is just because of how low baby’s immune system is. You guys will be fine. 💕

It's a bacteria that is found in intestines, rectum, and vagina of women. Many women will have or carry it sometime in their life, but if you have it during pregnancy, it becomes a risk during delivery. Baby can become infected once amniotic sack (water) breaks or while passing through birth canal. It can cause ugly issues, but knowing puts you ahead of the game. Super easy to treat, antibiotics during labor, I tested positive at 16w and negative at 36w but we're being safe. If your water breaks, it's important you are prompt in getting to hospital and tell them you are GBS Group B Strep positive. There are also two kinds, the kind pregnant women have that can pass to baby, and the kind that develops later. To avoid the later kind make sure everyone washes their hands before touching baby.

So, that's my lengthy explanation BUT I would also like to say not only am I positive, but I know multiple other women who have been and have perfectly healthy babies! Nothing to worry about, just something to know. ^-^
