I see what she was doing I mean it wasn't like she was taking the money from the child she was teaching the child responsibility and how to be ready for when she does get a little older but I think that should be waited until she's at least eight nine or ten so she can understand a little bit more but that is very smart how she's not taking the money like some people would to actually investing the money for her daughter so when she turned 18 she can have the money to do with what she needs I buy a car whatever that's very smart but I think that it should be done when the child a little older so they can understand not 7 but if your child is able to comprehend and understand then by all means let's do it at that age.
@emmaleigh, if that works for you. I just don't want my kid to have this false expectation of the world or to have her feel she wasn't prepared, even though I had a job at 16 I wish I knew more. I'm not taking away her childhood, I do it all to create memories. She's young but eventually she will start to connect the dots.
@ambergainer oh I definitely agree I just think it should be done when she's a little older it's like my daughter I just think I should be done when they're a little older like 9 or 10 so they can understand but I don't disagree with what she's doing I think it is neat that you put in the money that her daughter's paying her in a banking account until she's 18 yes that's her child more respect for the things that she has because she has to pay for it

My uncle did that for my cousins! Once they became teens and got jobs it went up to $100 a month. They got a nice check when they moved out.

I love the concept behind this. I think this is a good idea. I may start later though, like 8 or 10 maybe? Preparation is always good.

@ambergainer, exactly! Nothing in this world is handed to us without a cost.
