Any tips on helping Isabelle with this cough/congestion? I’m always positive it’s from the change in weather: Monday it was 10°, Wednesday it was 65°, and yesterday it snowed. 🙄🤦🏼♀️ Regardless, she’s got a cough and runny nose, no fever and she’s got quite a bit of congestion. Im 99% certain that it’s just a cold, but our usual zarbees and Tylenol regimen isn’t working. Any other ideas?
I’ve got it too now, which is why I’m so sure it’s just a cold. I think it’d be much easier if she could clear her throat and blow her nose, but she can’t, so it’s just stuck there.

Eucalyptus essential oils help break up phlegm and makes it easier to cough up.

Humidifier. You can also try Claritin for kids.

@lovely246, Eucalyptus is only for adults.
Marjoram essential oil is safe for little ones and is used for congestion. There are other mixtures you can do with essential oils that may help you two feel better as well. Google has it all! Lol

@dazzlingmommy She could do peppermint instead.

@dazzlingmommy Why is eucalyptus not safe in a humidifier but menthol is safe for rub and humidifier?? They are both strong smelling and have similar side effects.

@lovely246, @dazzlingmommy, I don’t have any essential oils and I’m snowed in 😅😅😅 we don’t have a humidifier either.

@lovely246, Yes peppermint works!
I personally don’t use menthol on my son. Especially Vick’s rub because I’ve read so many articles and horror stories I know all babies react to things differently, but I like to stay on the safe side of things especially when it comes to my son.

@scurlock.mommy, Oh man that stinks!! What also helps is running a hot shower and just sitting in the bathroom with her and just let her inhale the stream. It’ll help clear her up a bit!
