Well you definitely can't hold him 100% of the time, you need a break. Try using a swing or something with motion to keep him calm. Also, playing low "in utero" sounds in his room or even a soft recording of your voice might help. The right swaddling blanket that stays tight will help a lot, also a baby cushion for him to lay on like the Dock a Tot (there are cheaper versions you can find or make) will curl up a bit around his sides and more mimic the feeling of being held (+ swaddling of course). All he knows is you and the closeness of being held is very comforting. Have you tried swaddling him?

Yeah if he doesn't feel me or hear me he wakes up and cry's like he's in pain

Awe!! Maybe you can try baby wearing that way he gets his closeness but you still have your hands free

Just remember, at this age, your baby is learning to trust that you will be there when he needs you. You can’t hold him too much.
