Just a question did anyone not get the tdap vaccine and there fine and baby too
They told me that they give it because it actually offers the fetus immunity after its born. Since we have pertussis in our community currently it's highly recommended. May be benificial to you to just talk to your doctor and have them explain the pros and cons so you can make an informed decision.
I actually got that shot after the baby was born, maybe every place is different?
@anthonysmommy92 Usually no later than 36 weeks so your body can build-up antibodies for it since your baby doesn't get the shot until they're actually 2 months old. I'm sorry she didn't tell you! That's a bummer! But obviously you might still want to get to protect after he or she is born, and yourself and such.
I didn’t get it with my son, I was never asked if I wanted it or told I should he is fine, but this time I was asked and saw the benefits and got it whooping cough is a very scary thing to risk.
I just realized your 39 weeks you’re actually past. When they usually do it which is before 36 weeks!
@bhtslove thats what im thinking my midwife didnt tell me they don't offer them anymore
@beccaaalynnn11 they should i can prevent the baby from getting whoop cough but they most recommend it in grandparents....my Dr hasn't mentioned it either and im due Monday
