Day four of no poop and my little man is now really struggling to fart. If it's still getting worse by tomorrow then I'm gonna call his doctor and see what she says. I feel so helpless and awful when he is crying in pain like this 😭

Gripe water helps. Or a teaspoon of prune, apple, or pear juice added to a 4 oz bottle. https://www.mom365.com/baby/baby-health/10-ways-to-relieve-babys-constipation?m=1

Do you bottle feed?? Try kairo syrup if so.

Also try a qtip covered in Vaseline. I know it sounds weird but Just pop the tip in his rectum and that will make it easier for him too poop. Worked with all my kids.

I breastfeed mostly. I'm just now starting to pump for when I return to work. Thank you though!

I was thinking about that, I've heard people use rectal thermometers too. I might just try that because sometimes he's grunting and pushing so hard that he's almost purple in the face.

@damiensmommy1117 it always worked immediately with all my kids.

I always did the thermometer it helped get the gas out immediately and helped him poop only thing I ever did

@damiensmommy1117 my daughter struggled with constipation when smaller and karo syrup was great. You just add a bit to a bottle. If you try it get the clear one. It's what the doc told us to do. Also you can try tummy massages, leg bicycles.

Prune juice and just mix it in with his milk in the bottle and give it to him that way. It helps a lot. That’s what I do with my son when he has constipation problem.

I’ve down the thermometer for a bit with my boy and it really does help. Also, prune juice and apple juice. My son would get sooo constipated.

This has been happening to my son lately and every 4 days I've had to take his temp in his bum so he poops. It's never constipated poops though because they are still soft. We go to the doctor on the 17th to see what they say (have to wait for his insurance). Until then I've been told probiotics are helpful if nothing else works.
Whatever you do don't do a suppository! My MIL keeps pushing us to use them and the one time we let her our sons tummy got really upset the whole day after and I regret letting her do it.
