Ok so what’s the deal with the rock n play thing, it’s like all the rage, I just don’t understand though because they are not a safe space for babies to sleep, I don’t understand how they have gotten so popular amid all the potentially negative downsides.

How are they not a safe place for babies to sleep? My doctor recommended it for my son’s reflux and it was an absolute dream.

I don't get it either. I just had bassinet, then crib. Had playpen, later, for travel.

@dbarton041, Risk of SIDS, flat head from not having free range of motion, neck muscle issues due to gravity of the babies heavy head and not developed enough neck muscles, additional padding on many models that are a suffocation hazard...just the same as a baby not sleeping in a car seat, or swing, or bouncer...and inclined surface is not safe says decades of research by the American Academy of Pediatrics. I’m glad it worked for you and I hope everything is alright with your baby, I would just never recommend it and I am happy to tell people why.

I had the rock n' play sleeper and had ZERO issues with it. Is that different from what you're talking about??
