Does anyone have experience with the ADHD medication Intuniv? My son just started it recently and it is making him very tired. He is falling asleep in school. I have already spoke to his doctor and we are trying dosage at a different time of day. I just wanted to hear from anyone their experiences with this medication. Hopefully we can find the right time of day to give it to him without him falling asleep.

My daughter is on it. She’s done so good on it and in the very beginning she was always tired and she did fall asleep in school. She’s been on it for 2 years not and is still doing great

Oh and I also give it to her in the evening around 7 since her bed time is 8/830 and she’s not as tired during the day.

@rebecca3009, thank you! We were giving it in the morning than switched to evening. We are now going to try around 4 after school. He started on a 1 mg dose and is now on a 2mg dose. I do think it is helping him but he keeps falling asleep in school. Hopefully we can get it straightened out. He has only been on it for about 2 months now.

@starienite, my daughter is on 2 mg too. Just give it Time his body will get use to it and the sleepiness with fade

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your input. This has me so stressed out. I keep getting emails from school that he is falling asleep. They know he started this so they are trying to work with him.
