**CAUTION TRIGGER**

*Thanks ahead for those who read all the way through*

I have deleted Snapchat and havent used it in a couple months...maybe longer. I dont put the camera in front of my face besides taking a photo to print for my photo book or to send my man a nice reminder of what he has to come home to.
Is there anyone else out there who doesnt use snapchat?

I have thought about instagram and Facebook but its the photos. its honestly my backup in case my phone gets erased. lol

however, I dislike the social media and the anxiety that comes from it. Facebook is drama... commercials... advertisements, just junk. it keeps your attention. unable to go to bed or waking up in the morning to instantly grab your phone. Walking or DRIVING and wanting to check your facebook or Twitter (which I never have gotten into) or instagram.

Taking your child to the park and watching your phone rather than your child (I havent done nor do I know someone that has but merely speaking in general). This is an issue in society but yet... are we gonna stop this? no...I think not. as we are coming out with the iphone x or the new LG android.

I am considered a millennial. born in '97 and yet I did grow up when cell phones were still (ancient) flip phones. I didnt get a phone until 8 years old, only because I walked home from school. My moms nokia, you know the one...the small itty bitty undefeatable one, was still being bought! lol

which brings another thing...giving a child a phone. AN IPHONE at the age of 6. A tablet at the age of 2. I'm sorry but I wouldnt do that. I just dont agree with it. I wish we could let them play outside but we have predators to worry about. we do have a backyard though and that will do just as good. a couple hours of tv time (judging by a movie) is fine.

Also I COMPLETELY disagree with giving your child a phone while going out to dinner. letting them watch their show at the table in a restaurant. thats RUDE and disturbing in my opinion. how did our parents, our parents' parents SURVIVE!? lol

It makes "dating" easy with a swipe of the finger...by ones looks. it has determined what women AND men should look like. not only that but obesity is now becoming something we try to get to. its not pretty.. being thick or having fat isn't bad but being OBESE is not okay. its unhealthy. and technology makes people lazy and easy to become obese.

To clarify: Obesity is different than being fat or thick. we all want to be a size that we arent. I wish I was a size 5 or back to 3...but no..I'm back to size 0. I liked being a little THICKER. but again...obesity just isnt okay. and phones...computers... tv...is a part of creating this issue.

I hope I didn't offend anyone - it was not meant to be offensive but merely to speak my mind.

on the other hand there are many pros to technology.
> medicine
>communication
>safety
>school (do I need to mention the con on bullying?)
and much more but I sincerely believe there is an issue with how much screen time we have including children. how addiction to social media is increasing. lastly, the less time we spend with the people that are right next to us.. we are on our phones instead. but its just how we live in the 21st century...

@ana_xxv I know. it is really a sad thing how bad bullying has become. you can never get away from it now that its wherever you go. right in your pocket. as for the device... its how this society works. its what we depend on. Its a distraction. I dont have internet or cable so this makes it much easier to not do it. I am even thankful that we dont have it. but...it does make things a little difficult at times.

I'm so guilty of using it to get my daughter to calm down when nothing else is working when we are in public . Despite times right! Haha. And it's so effective because cyber bullying is so high

@ana_xxv 💯 agree!! I will not buy my child his own tablet when hes old enough to even comprehend what its for. IF I'm desperate... lol...ill give him mine to borrow for a limited time. I think its ridiculous for these kids to be surrounded by this technology right at their finger tips. it just is not okay. its lazy parenting because you dont have to entertain your kid...their $100-$200+ phone or tablet device does.
contacting parents or other certain family in case of emergency or something is the only thing they need a phone for. just sucks cause parents are also on it all the time too. 😢

Yes girl! I completely agree with your post. My two year old was given a tablet! Just no! I let her use it a little but now it stays hidden away in my closet. How absurd for even a toddler to even own a tablet!? Even for elementary kids to own a cell phone to Snapchat and kik or whatever it is that kids are into today. If anything I would give my child a flip phone. Call and text your parents that's about it. Nothing extra.
