Sometimes, despite being married, I feel like a single mom. I’ve talked to my husband multiple times about the fact that I need him to help me more around the house and with the baby. I don’t bother him during the week cause he’s still working, however on the weekends he still doesn’t do anything! Ugh!!

Stop doing it. Just take care of you and the baby. Take sometime for yourself and get your nails done. Leave him to fend for his self. even through the week.

@beemommyof3, I’d love to, but I can’t stand a messy house. All I ask of him is to feed and change the baby a couple times and maybe wash some bottles. I’d love for him to wake up with the baby at night (weekends) but he sleeps right through him and when I do try to wake him up he has a wicked attitude!

Oh well. Wicked attitude right back. the reason he doesnt is because he knows all he has to do is act an ass and you will leave him alone. No. get your ass up even on the week days and help. I didnt get myself prego, i dont care if he works or not. Mother is fulltime job also and you dont get a break. Why should he get breaks at home when he gets breaks and lunch at work. When was they last time you had a decent shower or a full meal that you ate without a baby in arm. girl you better stand up as the woman of the house and demand what yoh deserve.

@beemommyof3, you’re right, it’s just so frustrating and I just feel like crying. I’m only 1 person.

Yup. I understand and you have to not do his laundry, dont make his lunch, dont give no hanky panky and on the weekend let him get a taste of his own medicine. Give yourself a girls day. My hub always says, you seem to always be on top of everything. No you force me to be on top of everything. I shouldnt have to ask for help when we have 3 kids. You know what needs to be done so do it. period. I am only one person. He used to walk in and the house would be upside down, he just starts cleaning and making dinner 🤷 Gotta command respect. I go every saturday, get my nails done and go to the mall or wherever. I dont say anything to him, i just do what I do and come home about 5 or 6 hours later. Be selfish, take a break. You need it.

You need to be 100% for your baby. You cant be 100% when your only functioning at 50. The baby can feel your stress

@beemommyof3, I’m even more nervous cause I go back to work on the 8th. So we’ll both be working and I better not be the only one takin care of the house and the baby.

@snowkat90 Well better talk about that now. And give him some days to practice and prepare

You need him to be there and on board. My husband didn't get it at first but when he saw how tired I was with a little preemie at home; he was right there helping. He did weekends at night; cooks us dinner (still does) every night. I work two evenings a week; he comes home from a 10-12 hour day of work and does everything until I get home. That includes bath time and bed time. Dinner might not be made but if it's a tough day; we'll plan take out.
He stepped up to the plate and goes beyond for us!
But in the beginning he told me"I could never be a stay at home parent." But he does a damn good job when he is here!

@gracelynnsmama, I’m really hoping it clicks in my husbands head. I just told him how I felt and had a minor breakdown. Maybe he’ll realize that he needs to step up.

@snowkat90, I hope so. It's not easy doing everything by yourself. I am pretty much a stay at home mom. When he comes home; it's like my moment to relax a minute. Last night my husband went out after work. Forgot to tell me. 8pm rolls around. I call him. He's out with friends. That doesn't bother me. He had a long week at work. The fact I waited around thinking we'd be cooking dinner bothered me. I was hangry. 😂 plus we found out that baby to be is measuring small in weight, my blood pressure is going up. So a lot of things going through my head...since this happened with our first and some other complications. I just needed reassurance from him.
He felt bad. Offered to order me something. I didn't want anything. Offered to come back and make dinner. I didn't want to ruin his fun. Probably the last time out for him for months. So I made something for me. He did come home an hour later with one of his friends and hung out with me so i was included. And with the 3 day weekend, we'll be doing everything together 😂

Oh these men... when my husband clocks out from work he's done everywhere. Even at home. He says he works so his time off is his time to relax. So he NEVER cleans house and rarely ever helps with the baby. No matter how sick or exhausted I may get he's worse off and won't help. And he wants another baby. 🙄 he'll sit and watch me clean house or make supper while holding the baby and not offer any help at all. Even when I was working her first 4 months he still wouldn't help.
