So if 2 nights ago I was 80% effaced, 2cm, and have been having contractions on and off since, and midwife said she doesn’t think I’ll make it past due date (the 1st)..... do you think I’ve made any progress? I might go in tomorrow night and see if I’ve made progress. Im just scared that I’m making hella progress and won’t have time to get the epidural. “Labor” with this little guy is all new territory to me.
With my oldest, I labored for 3 days and was convinced I wasn’t actually laboring cause I was told at the hospital I was having Braxton Hicks and I should be fine for another couple weeks (I was only 35 and a half weeks and had my daughter 36 weeks exactly). With my second I had NOTHING. I had to be induced at 40 weeks 5 days cause of low amniotic fluid and decreased fetal movement.
So I know I’ve lost my mucus plug, and I’ve had painful and painless contractions and I’ve been so sick (flu like symptoms without fever being signs of beginning or early labor) for about 2 weeks. Ugh. Oh and he is DEFINITELY really low and close to position. If not “in position” already. My pelvis hurts so damn bad.

That’s how I was I was 3cm and 80% effaced and was having contractions for a day and a half. I got sent home twice from the hospital. The second time I did an hour of leaving my water broke. I went back in to the hospital and was only a 4 and within 30 min i dilated to a 10 and I had my son. It was too late to get any pain meds or an epidural so I had to have him naturally.

@jankowski.talia, ugh that’s what I’m scared of. I mean if he wasn’t so huge I wouldn’t really mind no pain meds. But his head is already ginormous.

Yeah no one believed me when I said he was coming cause they had just checked and I was only a 4. I almost had him in the bathroom at the hospital. They also didn’t think it would happen that first cause it was my first. My son was 8lbs and thank god I only pushed for like 30 seconds cause it was horrible. I dont mean to scare you I’m sure you’ll be fine with getting the epidural in time. Everything will go great for you love !! You know your body better than anyone

@jankowski.talia, I’m just glad my hospital will admit at 4cm. Once admitted they check your progress every hour. I’ll probably end up getting the epidural at 6cm cause I know the last few will go quick. I just don’t know if they’d be willing to help urge it along with pitocin or not.
