Anyone that has gotten the Makena shot??? Would like to know if you went over due or went early or…

I’ve been on makena since 16 weeks I’m now 36 and get my last shot on Friday my I’ve been having contractions since 30 weeks and been dilated since 32 weeks my OB says that the makena is stopping me from going on active labor so after the last shot he said I might be induced or just go into active labor on my own very quickly

I was thinking the same thing. Even tho I'm on the pill and not the shot. Think at your next apt you could discuss it with your doctor. My midwife suggested having cervix checked starting at 28 or 32 weeks.

@cr131418, yeah I’m gonna ask her about it because i don’t want to have to be induced or go over. And my dr doesn’t check till 39 weeks! And i had no prior contractions till the day i had my first son so i had no idea he was coming 🤷🏼‍♀️

@kaela3, oh gosh. You could try asking to start checks sooner, they may due to your history. My midwife told me already that she don't want me to go a week over. She rather I have the baby closest to my due date as possible.

@cr131418, yeah the place i go too they will let you go 2 weeks over be they induce you! I cannot. My son was 6 lbs 11 oz at 36 weeks and 5 days. I’m not having a 9 lb baby. I’m tiny as it is I’m only 5 ‘1 and was 110 1bs before i got pregnant with my first 😂

@kaela3, oh my gosh yeah I don't blame you at all. That's crazy! Hopefully your little man won't make you wait and hopefully you don't have to be induced.

@kaela3, as long as our babies are healthy ! I’ve read a lot and honestly I believe if we keep active and squat dance and keep going our bodies will know what right ! They stop injections at 36 weeks it’s out of our body by the 9 th day then it’s far game

@ccancilla3, my son was 6 lbs 11 oz at 36 weeks 5 days and no nicu stay . I make big babies lol so i really don’t want to go past 40 weeks and don’t want to have to be induced

@kaela3, I make big babies too and pretty tiny too about your height , last baby that I was on the shot with was 9ib 9 ounces my second was 8ib1oz and my premie was 34. And 5 and weighed 6ib 12 oz so I understand I had a c section with my last baby and I’m hoping a vbac but doctor said if baby is more the 8 pounds I can’t

@ccancilla3, yeah i don’t want a c section either that scares me!! After my last shot I’ll be doing everything i can to get this little man out lol

@kaela3, I was thinking on asking to not have the one at 36 weeks like have the last one at 35

@ccancilla3, yeah me too because every Monday i turn another week and i get my shots on a Thursday so I’ll almost be 37 weeks at my last shot so I’d rather not get the last one

I get mine Wednesday and turn another week Saturday if I get it at 35 then I’d be 36 then by 9 days I’d be almost 37 and then she can come
