I took Josiah to the ER the other night cause he was crying non-stop for 2 days in a row. Turns out he has an ear infection in one ear. I dont think hes getting any better. He has this horrible cough and a runny nose and for some reason his fever just wont break. I'm switching Motrin and Tylenol, I have him in clothes that arent too light or too heavy. ( HE IS TAKING HIS ANTIBIOTICS THEY PRESCRIBED.)
I dont know if I should take him back in or wait another day or two to see if maybe he gets a little better. I hate seeing my baby sick and uncomfortable in pain.

@lil_spacehead, are you alternating the tylonal and Advil every 2 hours?
Genevieve Marin·
@danad269 my Dr told me every 4 hours, but yes I am.

Yes every 4 hours they get tylonal n Advil but if you give tylonal then 2 hrs later give Advil then 2 hrs after that give tylonal. But if can I would get him checked out by primary dr

How long has it been since he started the fever? You don’t want it to get over 103. Or for it to last a long time. If it’s been a few days since you took him to the ER i would take him back.

@susyr86 he's had the fever going on 4 days. I took him to the ER 2 nights ago. he looked better this morning but then started with a horrible cough anf back at square one with the fussiness and fever

Trust your mommy instinct. If you feel he needs to see the doctor again then go. When my kids get fevers and they spike up I put them in a Luke warm bath. It helps bring it down. Also use a humidifier with Vicks for the cough. You can also lay a warm cloth overt his forehead.

It will definitely take a couple days for the antibiotic to kick in but you should see improvement by day 3ish. I'd make an appointment to make sure he's getting better and not worse.

@lil_spacehead, trust your mommy instinct and don’t let anyone say your Exaggerating only you know your baby. If you feel he is not ok just take him back to the ER
