Just a thought, but being blood has nothing to do with who you can trust with your child and what is "appropriate" for example my stepdad has been around since I was 3 or 4 and my sister was 2. He's helped get us dressed shared a bed with us after nightmares and ect. As young children. Now my neice co sleeps with Mimi and paps when she's over there and he changes my girl's diapers. Now on the flip side my biological father isn't allowed alone with my daughter and I won't let her be in just a diaper at all around him. So my point is. Blood isn't what you should pay attention to. It's attitude and how they are around the child. Rely less on "well they are blood family" and more on your own instincts.

Yes! My brother isn't going to be allowed to babysit or just watch the baby for a few minutes. I don't think he would want to anyway, but since he's still living with my parents and probably will til they die I'm going to make it clear to them he's not allowed to babysit if they need to run out somewhere while the baby is with them. If he can't take care of himself properly and has anger/over reaction issues he's not taking care of a baby.
