Has anyone done anything other than almond milk or regular milk? I don't want to give either!

My son was on an allergen free diet he did end up with malabsorption but i dont know what actually caused it
Rachel·
@1bow3ties A bunch of articles online mostly that there's 0 nutritional value but coconut milk has great healthy fats so I dont know😐

I haven't done it yet but I plan on giving my baby hemp milk once she's old enough.
jenna tess·
It’s all she knows(: We went straight from formula to soy and never looked back.
Rachel·
@darla I looked into that as well...apparently no nutritional value
Rachel·
@1bow3ties almond milk just really grosses me out and I've heard the sugar content is high even in the non-sugar ones! The taste makes me puke so I'm just hesistant to give it to my kid lol
Rachel·
@1bow3ties I'd love to be vegan I wish I had the time and I know that's an excuse but life is nuts
Darla C·
@rmreed, it depends on the brand, organic hemp milk has a lot of nutrients

Coconut milk is definitely nutritional and it may be better/cheaper for you to buy the cream and water it down in a blender yourself. My son likes coconut cream with a little cinnamon.
Hemp is fine. There's also macadamia nut milk, rice milk, flax milk if you don't want dairy
Rachel·
@kambam does not recommend coconut milk, because of the saturated fat. A typical product, Silk Original Coconut Milk, has 5 grams of saturated fat per cup, vs. 4.6 grams for whole milk, 3.1 grams for 2% milk and trace amounts for skim. There's little or no saturated fat in almond, cashew and soy milks.
Rachel·
@kambam I have no idea what im doing lol there's too many options!!!

Don't be afraid of fat. It's a food myth that its bad for us. Babies need mostly fat for their growing brains and organs. Saturated fats are essential for hormone production and proper cell function.
Rachel·
@kambam No natural fats are, added saturated fats are an issue. Babies need natural and good healthy fats, omega 3's and such.

There's only 3 kinds of fat: saturated, mono, and poly. Omega 3s are a polyunsaturated fat. And they are all good for you. You have tons of milk options here though. Hope you find one that suits you!
Rachel·
@kambam Exactly lol I'm avoiding saturated...that's my issue. In moderation saturated is okay...not a ton. I don't want it addded. Thanks

@rmreed, we do it occasionally with meals. We got the okay from her doctor. We alternate milk and juice with lunch and she gets water with snacks. Plus she nurses all the day long.
