I only washed like a weeks worth of clothes at a time and when they get worn out /stained I’ll wash the next batch... only because I got so many clothes as gifts I knew he wouldn’t wear them all so I kept tags on them (and when the size was small for him) I either returned them for a gift card or re-gifted...
I washed mines last week at 31 weeks because I'm not able to get around like I used to, but I didn't wash the 6 to 9 months clothes yet I'll wait till it gets closer, the sooner you do it than you don't have to worry about it

Honestly I never washed mine before I had him. 70% of his clothes still has the tags on them
