I'm so sad these last few days. I have such trouble with seasonal affect disorder. I wish I could go south. I don't have the drive or energy today and I just want to cry.

@mct had to Google it never knew that existed...omg. my partner was just telling me this that every year around Thanksgiving till New year's I start acting a certain way... And I just started to notice that pattern

@motherof3boyz702 it happens when there are shorter light cycles in the day. So living in Wisconsin where it is dark when you wake up in the morning and then dark by 4:30 at night makes life hard. I can always tell by the end of October that the depression is getting bad. The shortest light day of the year is Dec 21st. Slowly we will get more light each day. I usually don't start feeling better until April, but December and January are very hard for me.

@mct that's so crazy, I just feel so depressed during the holidays.. Don't know if it's just the overwhelming of it all or what

@motherof3boyz702 they sell lights that you can sit under and they do help. I'm actually sitting under mine now. However, my light burned out in September and I got a new one at Christmas so I'm way behind.

Lights? Like what exactly?
MoT·
@motherof3boyz702 the holidays can be depressing all on their own but throwing in the lack of light never helps. It's always hard to tell what it is. If I hadn't been through this each year I'd never believe something like S.A.D existed. It took us a few years to catch on to the pattern but every year at the same time it hits.

@motherof3boyz702 They have special lights for seasonal Affect disorder, if you look them up. They are uv free lights that are bright enough on the light spectrum to provide you with the benefits of natural sunlight. They help trick your body into thinking you are getting the light you need. It increases energy and decreases the depression. I swear by it!

@mct just read about the light... Hmm so were you diagnosed
