Did you ever get the answer about what your OB said for congestion? I went to urgent care because I was having trouble breathing and of course the guy had to give me shit and started second guessing my OB

@taylorsmommy1017 My OB told me to take sudafed and it's not even on that list and the PA at urgent care was shocked. My last OB told me mucinex was safe (I only get this black plague URI pregnant), but it's classified as a class C and the PA again advised me not to take it.

No they just told me to drink a lot of water and try to eat on light food like soups and rest!!!!@badadvicemom

@taylorsmommy1017 well because pertussis can kill so the benefits certainly outweigh the risks for that one.

@ashleyhunter3299 yeah it's like a coin toss with doctors these days. They'll either tell you to take something or just suffer.

@taylorsmommy1017 right, but during the first trimester it can cause birth defect and during the third it can cause seizures. My doctor told me sudafed was safe, then I look into it and during the first trimester it can cause the intestines to come out of the stomach.

@ashleyhunter3299 I know what you mean!!! I'm bedridden with no voice, humidifier constantly going, vicks, hall's, mint tea, everything possible natural. I haven't slept in 3 days 😣

@taylorsmommy1017 right and you can't really say "hey pregnant women, we want to see if this will kill your baby, you on board?" They did a study and the study followed women who had taken it and showed an increase in birth defects for women who took it during the first trimester and there was an increased chance. I'm *just* outside the first trimester and took it this morning and felt so guilty about it.
