Idk what to do anymore..... after just being with my fiancé and his family I've never felt so depressed. This holiday is my favorite and it sucks that I couldn't do for my son and I just feel like shit. My fiancé's cousin had her baby almost 3 months ago and her whole family was spoiling her and it's like my son watched all those presents and got sad. I hate that I can't splurge on my son let alone my self. I barely got stuff for Christmas I went out of my way for my fiancé and his family. My fiance is getting my gift all late and wrong. Am I wrong for feeling this way. Oh and then all afternoon my fiancé's mom and step dad been arguing.

^ What she said. You need to teach your son Christmas isn’t about gifts, it’s about family and being around those you love for another year. Depending on what you believe in, also jesus’s birth (but only if you believe in God). And again, he’s only one, he’s not going to remember Christmas this year.

Instead of getting gifts for everyone else, it may have been better to use that money for your son’s gifts. My husband and I didn’t do gifts at all this year, and only spent money on gifts for the baby, since it’s his first Christmas, and we will have a million holidays together for gift giving. Like everyone else said, it’s not about the gifts, it’s about being thankful for being with each other and having a united family together. But, if the gifts really bother you, that’s an option.

@mama_of_2_under_2, trust me I get it, but, think of it better to teach him life lessons and to NOT be a crap shoot like his dad. When he’s older, he will appreciate it sooo much more when he has a family of his own and to thank you for it!
