@ilovemykids97 yeah the genies are a waste. We had an actual a changing table that matched the crib. We were supposed to get a crib that had the small changing pad connected with 3 drawers but my grandma orders the wrong one. The top was flat and then had two shelves under it. I had to buy a separate pad to go on it. We used the top for about a month, mainly my fiance, and now we always just change her on the bed or floor. I think drawers and other storage is more useful than the changing table.

@braylea18, Awh, congratulations!!! 🤗💙 You can definitely start now, or wait a few more weeks to buy things. There’s no right or wrong, it’s solely up to you! 😊

@braylea18, no, it’s okay girl! Did you find out what you’re having? I didn’t really start buying things for my baby till after we found out the sex at our gender reveal party. I was 23 weeks then. I’m 29 weeks now, I’ll be 30 weeks on Christmas and we pretty much have most of all we need. 🤗

@arcsmomma we put poopy diapers in a grocery bag and tie it closed and put it in the trash. works just as good as a diaper genie. We still use the changing pad, I have it on a desk that has a small drawer that diaper creams and powder go into and then we put storage drawers under it.
Baby towels are a waste, they don't really dry baby off that well. You only need like 3 receiving blankets. Lots of socks for those tiny toes!!

In my opinion, the diaper genies are a waste of money and space. If you take your trash out on a regular basis it won't smell. If you plan on actually changing your child every time on a changing table then go for it, if not, I wouldn't buy one. Just stick to a crib and storage. You'll always need more storage.
I bought like 2 packs plain onsies in different sizes (nb, 0-3m, 3m, 6m) and then a few outfits along the way that I really liked. Other than that I waited til my baby shower to see what else I needed to buy. My grandma bought the crib and changing table (we didn't use the table after about a month that's why I made my previous statement about it) at about 6months into pregnancy and we set it up when we got it, really made things feel real and made us excited for the arrival every time we saw it. Diapers I'd start buying like a box or 2 a month or every other month. Can never have too much diapers and wipes, get different sizes, if a box isn't used you can exchange it for a different size.
