This may seem overly critical of me but this is my child and I only like to feed him healthy nutritious food. So I made my son oven roasted sweet potatoes because he loves them. I work nights and I leave things set aside for him to eat. My mom then tells me that she mashed up his potatoes and added butter to them. The inside of me screamed! Like why?! Her and my step father are the buttertens! Literally they add butter to everything and then they think there dinners are healthy. Ugh no not when you add a stick of butter to everything. For one I don't even give my son butter if I do it's, light, I can't believe it's not butter. And the next time I'm going to say something. Or casually mention it. I'm very health conscious I eat very healthy and I rarely eat what they make. And neither does my son. Just cAuse it's not heAlthy. I don't want to make her feel bad cause she gets so butt hurt about everything even when I'm not trying to be mean. Sigh. Not to mention my son has a sensitive stomach and throwing up issues and acid reflux all in which she knows. Like I'm his mom what I say should go right? Am I being to much? I just want my son healthy that's all. And she knows how I feel about his dad feeding him unhealthy but she doesn't see butter and oil as unhealthy?! It's shocking really.

I get what you mean, to be honest I don't really think a little butter will hurt anything... but you are his mother and if you prefer him not to have it then that's how it should be. I have the same issue with my son and my boyfriend, he always gives me son whatever he wants if it'll make him happy and it drives me insane because it's always sugar! I hate it. He gives him candy and soda and sweet snacks like little Debbie's and hostesses. I get so mad because it's like you can't give a child whatever he wants just because you want him to be quiet it's just not how it's done.

@skylersmommy11916, I totally agree! I give my son low sugar to no sugar things. I can be frustrating. I have this issue with my sons father too him feeding him whatever

@pnkbuttafly234, omg it's awful! I'm doing the cry it out thing now :/ it's so hard but my son is so attached at night when he wakes up hen won't go back to sleep unless I'm holding him! I'm also trying melatonin. But I'm not having any success :/ he sees his pediatrician next week and I'm going to see what can be done about this sleep issue cause it's becoming a real problem.

@missjess, my son too and he’s the same age . Ugh I’m sorry to hear that I know you’ve been dealing with this awhile but your still always so happy lol.
It makes me miserable nights I have to stay up. He falls asleep in his crib then wakes and even when I put him next to me he doesn’t fall out right away. Cry it out is so hard . Let me I know how it works
