By age 4 I helped my three learn how to shower on their own and by age 5 they were on their own. My daughter is 5 with medium length hair so that was a hard one to teach her. Otherwise no problems. Just check on her every couple minutes and leave the door cracked so I can hear if she needs me.

I have a 3 yr old, two 4 yr olds & a 5 yr old & they all take baths in twos .. i constantly check on them .

My son's 5 and I no longer help him at all. We started around 4 getting him used to it, I would start the shower and peek in every so often to make sure he was washing everywhere.

I'm not a mom of older children but my dad and stepmom let my 7 year old little sister shower on her own
