@mariacardnz123 Like @zealous said get it done as soon as you can and I would definitely wash everything before packing it in your bag clothes, hats socks, mittens, blankets etc.... anything new that comes into this house like clothes, socks, coats blankets, towels anything fabric gets washed before it gets used.
@mariacardnz123 during the clothes making progress all fabrics get coated in a layer of chemicals such as insecticide among others to prevent and insects or critters from wanting to get to them and also other chemicals to prevent mold during the shipping and storing process. I'd wash the diaper bag too btw.
