Setting your child on schedule is key. Also creating a bedtime routine really helps. Every night at 7pm my daughter gets a bath after her bath I rub her down in lavender scented lotion, get her pjs on, have some cuddle time then she gets her bottle and goes to sleep.
My daughter now sleeps from 7:30 or 8pm until 5:30am or 6am and then falls back asleep after her bottle for another 2 hrs. She has had this schedule since she was about 3 months old.
I would wake my daughter up at about 8pm feed her and again at 10pm, then she would sleep until like 3 or 4 in the morning I would feed her again and she would fall back asleep until about 6 or 7am. She had this routine down by the time she was 2 weeks old.
