So my sister has a controlling, abusive(occasionally physically but mostly emotionally) boyfriend and she tried to break up with him and he said no and he wasn’t leaving. I am really proud of her for sticking with it and she wants to kick him out of her apartment tomorrow but doesn’t know how... he isn’t on the lease. What is the best way to go about this?

- Unfortunately.. Do you have proof of that ? Medical bills, photographs ?
@beccaaalynnn11, even if he has been abusive?
- Then legally in the state of Texas you are required to give him written notice of eviction.. calling the cops won’t work, we can’t do anything if he’s paid bills. That makes him technically a tenant. So your sister needs to write him a 30 day notice.. And maybe she can stay with you during that..

If he’s not on the lease I’d tell her to call the police and explain that she doesn’t feel safe. My best friend had to do this, the police officers helped him move his crap out of her house while she watched from inside. Then she filed a restraining order against him.
Seeing how he isn’t on the lease and they technically broke up he is trespassing if she don’t want him there. I’d call the police
She can have a officer stand there till he gets his stuff out and leaves
