I wish more people understood how hard it is to be a single mom. Not the single mom where dad helps and has the kid every other weekend but the single mom where dad has never been involved since the moment she was pregnant. The single mom that does everything she can and it still isn’t enough. The single mom that is lucky to go out twice a month. The single mom that works three jobs and still has to have her parents help her with bills. The single mom that puts on a smile but is crying inside from stress. The single mom that loves her kid so much it consumes her but still needs an escape sometimes. The single mom that barley gets to shower because by the time the kid is asleep she’s exhausted. The single mom has gets no sleep when the kid is teething. The single mom that doesn’t know what to tell her kid when they ask about their dad. The single mom that wants to meet the guy she’s going to marry but doesn’t want them to be around her kid too early so she has no option except to not date because she has no babysitter. I’m one of those single moms and as much as we don’t want to admit it we hate it. We hate that our kid has no dad. We hate that we have no help. But most of all no matter what happens we love our kid more than we even understand and we would do anything for our kid.
