Pumping helps ease the hassle of uncomfortableness n your breast. It's also good n helping you to train your lil one getting use of the bottle feeding as an alternative when you feel too tired to breastfeed. The only down part with breast pumped milk is it can't stay outside for more than "3-5 hours", ((3-5 days in the fridge and 3-5 months in the freezer)). But if your only concern is doing so in public,.don't think of it too much. As long as you make it too obvious and use a cover.

I am kinda shy about nursing in public but i will probably lose that and i am getting a nursing cover. But i might just get a 2nd hand pump in case i need it.

Ok... im learning... thinking it be nice to get a good deal on one now instead of having to spend big money on one if i would suddenly need it.

You dont need one. You shouldn't pump the first 4 to 6 weeks to help regulate supply Unless baby is unable to latch or nicu possibly and at that point they give you one to use. As long as you are breastfeeding then no pump is necesaary.

You definitely need one. But the hospital normally give you a free manual one.
