Does anyone have any advice on products that really help get through the first few weeks with baby? It can be for baby or me. I only have a week left and i wanna make sure i have everything.
@justinakristine, seriously it wasn’t so bad. Like yes it hurt but by the time I wanted pain meds it was time to push. And once they let me push I felt way better. I have a high pain tolerance, but I really think people talk about the bad parts of labor. I watched criminal minds to focus through my contractions, I got up and walked when I felt restless. I had a rocking chair and a birthing ball brought in my room so I could be comfortable.
@jhalsted1995 how was it being induced? Because i heard its horrible and way worse than going into labor on your own and I'm being induced next week so I'm nervous asf
@jhalsted1995 wow ! I'd be livid too lol. I'm glad that Pitocin got things moving!
@krisfreeman, I was so mad. Stuck in a hospital. Random contractions. Hooked up to monitors. 18 hours of other women having babies. It was hard to wait but once Pitocin started I was only in labor for 2 hours.
I wanna do padsicles but i live in a house with multiple other people and Idk if they'd appreciate pads in the freezer
Yeah i have nipple cream already because pregnancy made my nips super dry. i got a double electric breast pump free through insurance. I got nursing pads at my baby shower and Breast milk storage bags so I'm all set on the nursing part.
@krisfreeman, my water broke and I still had to be induced. I swore I peed myself and didn’t want to go in. My doctor made me get checked out and I had to be monitored and get induced the next morning.
@jhalsted1995 OMG 🙊 I can't even imagine that ! My water has NEVER broke on its on 😕
@krisfreeman, luckily I had a mattress protector before baby because my water broke in bed 😂😂
@jhalsted1995 me too 😂😂😂 and I kid up not, when she cried... by boobs tingles and started dripping with milk! We had to get a mattress protector (like what you get for kids who wet the bed) LMBO
@krisfreeman, I had to sleep with breastpads and a towel on my bed because my daughter slept 4-6 hours at three weeks so I would wake up soaked!
@vintagegrl81, oh and anything that they offer at the hospital take as much as you can. Especially the ice packs!
yeeeees ! L A N O L I N if you plan to breastfeed. @justinakristine If You Don't Listen To anybody else, listen to @jhalsted1995 because this stuff works MIRACLES on cracked, painful nipples. Oh & breast pads because milk will leak everywhere. Especially when the baby cries 😂
@vintagegrl81 lol it's ok. The hospital gives you this thick and bulky padded ice pack to wear after delivery if you have a tear or just for comfort...A whole human being just came out your cooch 🤣🤣 you usually wear that and some netted/mesh underwear until you leave the hospital.
Oh and cheap packs of underwear. I preferred high waisted they hurt way less.
Lanolin and a manual pump if you’re breastfeeding. Make padsicles. Preparation H. Coconut oil for your belly. A heating pad(when you breastfeed your uterus contracts, feels like labor all over again) for my baby I made sure to have clothes diapers wipes and extra blankets right next to my bed.
@justinakristine it didn't bleed through on me... the first couple days I was still wearing the ice pack so it caught most of the blood. After that, no I didn't wear a pad. It didn't go through or mess up my clothes. @vintagegrl81 to be safe though, because everyone's flow is different...wear a pad at least the first time & see if you need one from then on.
@vintagegrl81 either or... if you don't like the idea of "bloody underwear" then wear a pad with them but it's not necessary honestly. I didn't
@krisfreeman thank youuu!!! I am so not looking forward to the bleeding and pads and stuff lol
@justinakristine, go into it feeling positive and confident and remember this is what your body was made to do. Follow your bodies cues and trust yourself
