For hand foot and mouth disease are you supposed to take your child to the dr to confirm or can you just let it run its course?

As far as I can tell, partly from google and partly from past experience at a daycare, Luca appears to have gotten hand foot and mouth. He is drinking plenty of fluids and getting lots of rest. Does he need to go to the dr? I know that's a dumb question, but his insurance just ran out and it'll be a month til it renews so I really want to avoid any unnecessary visits. TIA!

I’ve had it and it’s a virus that just has to run its course. I don’t think there is much that can be done other than taking something for fever.
