I'm in need of some advice again please ladies. I'm finding it so hard to stay awake when feeding Eddie at night. I find myself falling asleep with him in my arms every night especially as lately he has been up every hour. It really scares me, but I wake up in exactly the same position. I've tried going into a different room and sitting on a hard chair, I've tried reading / watching/ listening to stuff on my phone, but nothing works. What else can I try? I'm just so tired I can't stop myself from nodding off.

@danpabs5 ye I've tried that, but he won't nap in his crib and will only nap on me or pram which makes it really difficult. Then I find it hard to switch off in the middle of the day. X

Take him to your bed and feed him whilst lying down. At least if you fall asleep he won't fall anywhere or get tangled in anything. But then again... He just might still sleep with you when he is 1.3...

:( I actually don't know a solution to this other than to say hang in there mumma, it does get better. They do learn to sleep in their crib, but for some the first 4 months or so, it's near impossible. I would also not worry too much, it's really mothers instinct when we fall asleep. The safest is probably lying down next to them that way when you accidentally drop off you won't be dropping baby. Personally I feel it's near to impossible when they're that young to not accidentally drop off if you're feeding every hour. I wouldn't beat yourself up about it.

I use to fall asleep with her on me after a feed. It is frightening hun. I let her sleep next to me. I felt more comfortable feeding her next to me and falling asleep. Some may be against it but it works for me. Now I'm sleeping so much better and so is she

I sleep without a duvet and feed my daughter lying down so if i do fall asleep she is safe x

@danpabs5 wow that light looks really good. Where can you get that from?.. Ye I have put my t shirt in before, but that was when he was newborn, I may try it again. Thank you 🙂x

I'd tell him he has to do a night feed its not fair your doing it on your own you deserve a night off x @kshelley
