I was up at 4 am making sure my fiance's lunch was made, breakfast was made & his coffee was ready to go... I do this every morning as I feel I should because I am not working & should do everything I can to make his life easier while working 50-55 hours a week on top of commuting 3 hours a day to ensure our bills are paid & we have everything we want & need. Now don't get me wrong, he wasn't always this great.. our relationship was a struggle for the first year and a half from the disception, dishonesty, manipulation, and mental abuse.. after a year and a half of it I was tired of fighting for a relationship that was one sided, that was draining the life out of me, that was deteriorating my mental, physical and emotional health so I gave him an ultamatum to either get help mentally & see a therapist because he had never been good with communication, watch me start treating him the way he was treating me or to watch me leave so someone else could treat me the way I deserved to be treated. From that day on he sought a therapist & it was like I was dating a whole new person. Our relationship has been just about perfect ever since, but I still have my doubts & insecurities due to past events, & past trauma I have endured.. I constantly find myself questioning everything big or small & when even the smallest detail seems off my automatically go back to thinking & feeling the way I did in the beginning. Constantly worrying if the past is going to creep back in. I worry even more now because we are starting a family & my whole life has been hell so I want more than anything for my daughter to have a better life than I did & I will ensure she is loved, safe and taken care of always. I don't want her to come from a broken home or be built from the same wreckage I was built from... I worry about the past so much that I give myself depression & anxiety thinking about the "what-ifs"... I make myself physically sick going through these motions & I know it's unhealthy but I cannot seem to find peace, I'm not sure if it is because I have been hurt so many times that I just expect it again or because I put so much trust into someone I love more than anything in this entire world & they just trampled it like it was nothing just like everyone else did (granted he has done so much to change & prove to me he has changed).. It's hard to forgive & forget when the person you love most could ever even thinking of doing you wrong when you have never once been dishonest, disrespectful or given them any reason treat you so poorly. I never wanted a house, family or kids before this man. I never wanted to settle down, I have always been the energetic, outgoing fireball of fun that could get any party started & put a smile on anyone's face and then I met my fiance & everything completely changed. From the minute we met I knew he was the one. I felt the connection instantly. There were no awkward moments, it was like we knew each other our whole lives. I instantly felt complete when I was in his presence, & truthfully I still do. I still want to experience all these things with him. It's just hard to allow myself to let go of what I've been through & find inner peace & happiness. We have been together for 2 & a half years & I don't want to give up. I have never been one to give up especially on someone I love more than anything. All I want more than anything is to just let go of the past so we can continue to work on our future. Does anyone have any tips other than therapy for finding inner peace, letting go of the past & learning to forgive open heartedly? I know if I don't try something soon I'm either going to ruin a good thing or ruin myself.

This is is deep thanks for sharing. I also went through a roller coaster of ups and downs in the beginning of our relationship. We met each other him straight after a divorce and 2 children and me during an unhappy marriage. Like you we connected immediately but lost touch for a while. When we linked up again we both knew we wanted to be each others forever. The hard part was getting past all the hurdles of bad relationship habits we were used to. It was rough becasue we were both set in our ways but we let thing run their course and I've always been a firm believer in "if things are meant to be they'll be."
It hasn't always been easy and it still isn't but we both continue to fight every single day. I've learned that things won't always be perfect but the most important things are that we, keep open communication, hear each other out, and forgive one another in order to move forward. I haven't always let my guards down because I've had traumatizing past relationships so the level of trust just wasn't enough if I wanted this to truly work. In the end I think he's proven to me that he's in this for the long run and that whatever we face we'll face it together.
I wish you guys the best and my advice to you is that if you feel inside that what you guys have gone through is worth the fight then you'll have to do your part in making sure you move forward for the sake of your the relationship and most importantly your well being. If it's truly worth it and he's putting his best self outthere you should do the same in return ❤

@gmartinez31 thank you so much. I needed to hear this, and know that I'm not the only one that goes through these motions. Most days things are great, better than I could imagine its just the other days when I'm stressed out and going through a lot that make me question not only the relationship but myself. It becomes difficult when things are going so well and you're just waiting for the other shoe to drop, it's not a easy to just change your mindset on the drop of a dime. It has taken me years to come this far and I will not give up because I do love and care about this man more than anything. Thank you again for listening and giving your feedback.❤
