Had a rough 18 hour labor. Epidural wore off after a few hours and other pain meds only worked for 30 mins at a time. I started having back labor 3 hours after cytotek/water broke on its own and had meconium in it. Epidural catheter took two tries to get into a good spot but it was all for nothing since it wore off. I began pitocin but my cervix never dilated more than 3cm, even at max dose. I had to have a contraction monitor inserted vaginally which made contractions feel more painful. I labored for 18 hours and felt almost everything the entire time before we decided a c-section had to happen. We did another epidural but I started feeling again during the operation so I was knocked out for the very end of it. When I woke up my baby girl was getting weighed on the scale so I was still able to have her placed on my chest and she latched onto my breast immediately. She’s perfectly healthy despite all we went through and has a full head of gorgeous thick hair. I feel so blessed to have my rainbow baby in my arms, finally!
