Haven’t been to sleep yet.. up with lil man but meanwhile my husband has been knocked out since 6 last night.... I’m getting fed up with being the only one who’s tired and being a “parent”... just because you helped make him doesn’t make you a father... I’m tired of when he comes in from work and he only holds lil man for 5-10 minutes before he falls asleep or he gets on YouTube... he doesn’t even try to learn lil mans sleep habits... and when he cries my husband waits until I tell him to hand him over and as soon as the baby gets in my arms my useless husband is back on his phone while I’m calming him down... lil man sleeps with me on a blow up bed while my husband sleeps in the couch then when I’m upset at him he acts like he didn’t do anything wrong... lil man cries when my husband has him and wakes up every 30 minutes.. but he doesn’t think he’s a bad father.... he might recognize your voice but he doesn’t know you... and when I start back working and my husband is beating his head against a wall because lil man won’t sleep or is screaming throughout the night, I’m going to look at him and tell him he did this to himself.... for 6 weeks I have dealt with this baby damn near by myself other than the few times I’ve woken him up at 4-6 in the morning so I can at least take a nap... I can count one one hand the amount of times my husband has actually spent awake with Zach.... and it’s pathetic... he doesn’t see anything wrong but I’m tired of it

He needs to help you. Working full time, you need each other's support. We had a preemie which was tough. My husband was scared to death to hold her at first. By the time she came home, he was right there with me. Even now in the night he gets up with me. If it's a work day for him; I send him back to bed. He is a trucker and needs his sleep. I work part time now,so the night is on me more. But I was full time when I first went back and that was hard on both of us. We're having our second in8 weeks. I'm nervous but know we can do it. Our one year old sleeps through the night most of the time. Maybe once a week she wakes up because of teething.
Our daughter is the biggest daddy's girl. And it's the time they spend together each day when he gets home until she goes to bed.
Talk to him. Guys don't know unless you say something.

@gracelynnsmama, I have talked to him... multiple times... he keeps promising to do better but it’s always the same... he waits until I ask him to take the baby.. I’ll take a hour nap and wake up to him snoring and the baby crying right beside him... or he’ll take him and then a few minutes later claim to have to go help someone or use the bathroom but when he comes back he jumps straight back to Youtube

It’s hard cuz these things usually don’t just improve and then when u get mad about it they act all dumb and innocent like all men do .... and then never fix it . Not sure how this could change :(

@mommynay, the way I’m feeling I’m about to just keep focusing on the baby and when he wants to step in whenever he feels like it just tell him I got it... it already feels like I’m a single parent might as well act like one

My husband is the same way. He has never woke up with her since she has been born. Even on his days off I’m still up with her while he sleeps. And if I try to wake him to stay up with her so I can get a few more hours of sleep. He says no and goes back to sleep.

@lizyetter_1991, men are just selfish

@mitiacarolina3, I have had the issue with Netflix on tv. My husband gets pissed, but I'll tell him 3 times I need him to do something; then I turn it off. I've hear " here we go again". But the phone I haven't done. He doesn't really go on it until after she's in bed. I use mine for work. So I have it near me if I need it but not on it constantly.

@gracelynnsmama, my husband is just a child trapped in a mans body

I feel that girl . it’s almost easier to just do it completely yourself and know that it’ll be like that then to keep doing this back and forth on a daily thing and being extra frustrated when u just have to anyway . Even tho it sucks . Men are actually the worst lol
