That's exactly where we are now. I've feared sharing with my MIL for the same reason, we shared with my SIL and she was very clear that she didn't think it was pretty at all and that she thought it was weird/looked weird. Then she suggested names the next day that sounded like last names or boys names and got butt hurt that we didn't like them. Then my MIL the other day was refering to baby girl by a another name we were considering but have decided against. We told her we hadn't decided the first name, because we don't want to tell her what we're thinking now, and she makes the comment that we better not pick something weird or different. That she won't be happy. My husband told her she does have to be happy, she just has to love her. She then says, well I'll just watch Aiden then and not her if you do that while laughing. She meant it as a joke but it still upset me. I just walked off and didn't say anything.

It's quite disappointing honestly. Thankfully my mother is more open minded, she thinks our name is pretty, unique but pretty.

It makes it hard to feel comfortable sharing our thoughts with anyone now on what we are thinking of naming our princess.

@blackcanary91 ugh you know exactly what I'm talking about. It's already 20 min ago but I'm still upset. My husband just answered after I wrote him that; who gives a shit if she doesn't like it she doesn't have to come visit when she's here. I wish I would be a little bit more cool like my husband In situations like that. I'm just fed up with all the different reactions on names now. I just keep my mouth shut.

@0711_sandra that's exactly how my husband is, he was like I don't care what any one thinks we like the name and that all that matters. But yeah I still get upset, mainly when I get negative responses that are more than "I don't personally like it but that's me".

@blackcanary91 yeah men take that stuff most of the time better than us woman. I wish I could care less sometimes. But yeah I will stop sharing name ideas too now. Not everybody can like it and dont have to.
