@babyveach it's my cousin's lol I'm too much of a wimp for a piercing on my belly after just giving birth 😂should she take it out?

This is after I cleaned it for her the thing above the big diamond is a scab from her previous belly piercing

@annahasanovic she should take it out and clean it with warm salt water but also get tea tree oil and vitamin e oil to help it heal so the infection so the infection doesn't get worse. My belly button rejected also but didn't look like that.

As a piercer

If you want to save it.

You need to do warm seat salt soaks 3x a day.

Youll also need a pray called H2Ocean to spray on it after the sea salt soaks, and stuff called Bactine for after the H2Ocean make sure you take a clean qtip spray the Bactine on your piercing and on tge qtip and make sure you clean it super good to get all the puss out and all the scabbing off.

It looks badly infected! Take it out before you get sick!

Needs to come out and rinsed w peroxide or solution

@tigertray I agree. That is really bad and to me it looks like it's rejecting also. You definitely want to take it out and still clean it with warm salt water and do as I said and get vitamin E oil and tea tree oil to help with the healing. The piercing won t stay open forever but if it's infected you need to clean it at least 3 times a day.

@babyveach, yes most definitely rejecting it that’s why it looks like it’s damn near gauging it’s self and it being infected don’t mean she didn’t do something right I’ve had my nose pierced 3 times never always got in infected I have too and bottom of my belly pierced top got infected twice I have my lip done each ear done 3 time and they always have a problem I had my belly ring out for a year and put it right back in tell her to take it out let it heal it might even be the jewelry she’s buying but that has to heal

I've been a piercer for almost 5 years, ive had clients come to me with more nasty looking infections than this one and they saved the piercing.

Any client i ever told to take the jewelery out and then clean it ended up being hospitalized or close to it because the infection got worse because it closed before the infection was gone.

So i was recommending to her to do what ive told my clients to do and they were able to save the piercing or at least fully rid the infection before taking the jewelery out.

I personally have had worse looking infections and done what i told her to do and the infection was healed within 5-7 days

If after a few days of it not looking better she probably would have to take the piercing out and then get put on antibiotics to rid the infection. As soon as that jewelery comes out, her body will try to start healing itself by closing the "open wounds" aka trapping the infection inside.

But what on earth do i know 😏😌

Yes its infected yes its possibly rejecting. Hell she could even be allergic to the jewelery or it could be too small of jewelery

But either way she needs to partially (at least!) Rid the infection before taking that jewelery out.

If she takes it out and tries to replace it and she takes too lomg doing so it will already be starting to close.

Ive had piercings 3 years old and very healthy halfway close with in 2-4 minutes of taking out the jewelery.

A client came to me last month with a boil on each side of her cheeks FILLED with blood and puss because her dimple piercings got infected and she panicked and took the jewelery out and before the infection was gone her "wounds" closed so she couldnt clean them anymore.

The piercing is 4 days old is it possible it's just healing?

If you wish to follow my advise and clean it using warm sea salt soaks, H2Ocean and Bactine then it will heal nicely and get rid of any possible infection. Using peroxide on a new piercing will only make any infection worse and dry out the piercing (which is very bad)

Once it looks better and not as irritated and swollen

Change the belly ring to something a little longer and make sure its real jewelery and not fake/plated silver.

The piercing (if not infected) should be healed in 2-3 weeks. But dont change the jewelery until the area isnt swollen and irritated.

@annahasanovic, is it pain full at all ? Would be a pretty legitimate question?? Also did she do this a home or did she go to a shop?

You shouldn't clean piercings with sea salt. I've NEVER used sea salt and also never had one get infected. Everyone I know that has used sea salt ended up with infections. Use antibacterial soap.
