Breast pump/feeding advice?
When should I start pumping? After my milk really comes in and it's not just colostrum anymore? How often should I pump and how long before he's supposed to eat? The LC never came to my room even though I requested it 3 times. I'll have a nurse start coming once a week, but Idk when that happens so yeah... Thanks!

I'd pump now , or try to start letting baby latch so your it can trigger your body letting it know baby is here already

Don’t pump until 6 weeks (when your supply regulates) pumping sooner than that can cause oversupply which can lead to clogged ducts or mastitis. Your body already knows your baby is born you don’t need to trigger anything. I would work on latching as soon as baby is born and do lots of skin to skin. Feed on demand every time your baby is hungry. There is a lot of cluster feeding in the beginning so don’t be surprised if baby wants to feed very often. There is a breastfeeding group I can add you to if you would like!

When my first daughter was born I wasn't producing enough to keep her hydrated, at the time i didn't know because she latched on and it seemed like she was eating, well long story short I ended up taking her to the hospital at 1 week old for dehydration from not eating enough since I wasn't producing enough and the LC on call had me pump every hour and a half! So I would say start pumping now for sure!
