ADHD medication for my son? Heart condition concerns & seeking advice
Ladies, are any of your children on ADHD medication? My son's therapist suggested he might need this medication. I spoke to my Mom and she said "Hell No!" She works with clients that are on these meds. Once you're on them, you're taking them for life.
I'm also concerned because he has a heart condition. I'm calling his pediatrician and cardiologist for professional opinions as soon as their offices open. My emotions are all over the place. Prayers, advice and opinions are appreciated.

A heart condition on adhd meds sounds pretty scary to me. I’d look into diet changes and natural therapies first 👍🏻

My son is staying with in-laws for school and just since Sept they have put him on sleep meds, anxiety meds and adhd meds. He's so tired on them. The sleep med is actually a blessing but the rest I want him off of. Hoping I can get him off of them when he comes home January

I know many people who cut out ALL sugar (it hidden in a lot of foods like milk and juices) and processed foods... oh and food coloring! They saw great improvements in just a couple weeks and their kids health improved 👍🏻

Yessss. I cut red 40 dye and most sugar out of his diet about a year ago and it helped.

@shadowsinhereyes I had my son on sleep medicine, anxiety medication, and adhd medication also and I just didn't like the way he would act plus he wasn't eating so I took him off the medicines and he's such in a better mood now and eats a lot more now... Hes just on sleep medicine because he has a very hard time sleeping at night...

@loving_the_mommy_life yes I had forgotten about him not eating well. He had night terrors really bad until he was 3 and still has them every now and then so I'll keep him on the sleep meds as well.

@loving_the_mommy_life I think its the sertraline. He takes his anxiety and sleep at the same time.

I was ADHD as a kid I took medicine as well your not going to be on them for life🙄🤦🏽it only slows him down nothing more nothing less
