Venting: my husband and I met with my granddad(who is a baptist pastor) yesterday because he wanted to talk about our “religion” (Islam). I already knew it wasn’t going to go well. My husband is so wonderful!! He tries to explain it. But I’m sure my granddad didn’t care. It was so uncomfortable and I swear he was telling us it was wrong and that if beejay allows him the time he’d “show him the light”. I will not allow anyone to make my family uncomfortable, control what my family’s next move is, or trying to convince anyone to go to another faith! I cancelled my vow renewal completely because it’s not as important as my baby and me and my husband being comfortable. I love all cultures and respect everyone’s religion.

My husband was a Christian when we first met, and he decided he wanted to convert to Islam after spending time with my family and I. It took his mom some getting used, but she came around eventually.
Although.. I keep wondering how she will be with our child

@miracle0723, my family is fine with it it was my granddad. I converted after understanding and watching my husband

Its to be expected, older generation older views.
My grandfather is the same way 😅 he can rant forever. We do our best to keep religion out of the conversations

@miracle0723, yeah I should’ve known. I’m still not willing to but my husband through that. I don’t ever talk about my religion he’s the one that brings it up. I rather give up everything I planned then have someone try to jump into my marriage and religion
