I need to vent a second or two. This is what abuse looks like. This is what getting away looks like. This is what the struggle with depression, anxiety, and PTSD look like. This is my daily reminder that I am the minority. I am the one who got away and took my daughter with me. I am that minuscule percentage that didn’t let my abuser take my life or my daughters life. It’s a daily battle but I take it day by day. Sometimes hour by hour, even minute by minute. It has been over a year since my divorce became final and I got away from a terrible situation when my daughter was barely 8 months old. I have a long road ahead to get myself where I want to be, but I have to for her. I cannot pour from an empty cup, so in order to give her my all, I have to give myself my all. I met someone who loves us both and knows my past. He doesn’t push anything and is very understanding when I have “my days”. Things happen for a reason and god has a plan for us, I just have to be patient and wait to see what that is. Until now I remain faithful that my lord will guide me and lead me in the path I’m meant to be on.
