It's not recommended because he might suffocate. Like if he moves and his face is down he won't be strong enough to lift his head. Just watch him carefully if you're going to leave him sleeping like that

I suggest you try to move him after he falls asleep though. To be safe.

Nah I rather not. That's what i read just wanted to see if other moms had the same expetience.

My babies wouldn’t sleep on their backs at all and I tried swaddles and everything. They lived.

Sorry if my response seemed abrupt. I appreciate your advice. I am a first time mom; you wouldn't believe the amount of research I do on everything. Literally everything. Kinda drives me crazy sometimes so I would rather get advice from experienced mom's. Hey you have a 5 year old boy and he looks healthy and happy you have to be doing something right.

@elenalee lol. All baby are different. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night thinking what if. First time mom syndrome.

@alvarez.simonej, weather is nice. Gets hot but we have trade winds. Same time as the States but you're probably few hours a head of me. Come and visit! I'll be happy to show you and baby around!

@alvarez.simonej, I did keep them next to the bed or in bed with me though when they were newborns. So I knew if they were ok. It’s amazing how light I sleep with a new baby! And my babies were always able to turn their heads on their own. I never saw their faces down. Also they were ebf which I read helps prevent sids.

@elenalee I'm breastfeeding him so he's been sleeping with me alot but I'm trying to get him used to his bed so he can give me a break. Breastfeeding is tough.

It is hard... but it gets easier, I love the convenience and lack of bottle cleaning:) I bf both my babies over a year. Also, if you do decide to keep him in bed with you, you will get more sleep... once my baby was an expert nurser, I was able to let him nurse while I slept, and they seemed to sleep longer next to me. Once they were able to sleep longer stretches I moved them to their own beds.

My mom is older and she's always skeptical about what they tell you not to do when your baby is small she says she did it with her nieces and nephews and they all lived lol not saying it's okay but i did it with my daughter and she was fine ... I did a lot of things with her that they say you probably shouldn't... She's a little savage baby now 😂😂😂 but as a mom to another you know when something is wrong ...mommy insticts are a hell of a thing lol ..that mattress is a super good idea though never knew that def. getting one !

My kids slept on their bellies and they're all fine... it's the only way they would stay asleep for me throughout the night

@elenalee that makes sense. I do love the convenience of breastfeeding. Less items in the baby bag and its such an amazing feeling to nurse.

@raquely omg its so bad. I was warned but going through the process of breastfeeding it was exhausting so nursing in bed made it easier. Now im thinking i should have suffered through the pain. Lol. But lesson learned.

@alvarez.simonej, I enjoyed it. It’s a challenge, but I really did love it. And when it was hard I just kept the mindset that women have been doing it for thousands of years and if they could do it, so can i. I also hate the smell of formula and never wanted to spend money on it when I had the milk for free. 😂

@raquely omg like living in heaven. I wish not this little guy. He has his nights and day mixed up too. So he sleeps all day and wants to play all night.

@elenalee exactly how i feel. Formula expensive if i can produce it why not do it. The challenge is all part of the package. Alot of woman cant breastfeed so I tell myself im blessed I actually can and the baby loves it. He refuses to take a bottle with breast milk.

@alvarez.simonej, my babies would never take a bottle either and my milk won’t drop with a pump, so ebf was best for us and I’m about to start all over again in a couple months. :) I’m excited. Nursing is such a special bond with baby.

Ye s it really is. It also builds an attachment for both parent & baby. Your kids kept you busy.
