So my uncle took me to Olive Garden for Veterans Day...we sit down and the waitress hands him the menu, and he politely tells her no I not a veteran and points to me and says but she is. The waitress then asks to see proof of me being a veteran...I honestly was distraught! Didn’t make a scene just gave her my Veterans card. She finally handed me to Veterans menu, which I was mad but what ever. Later as we were leaving the manager walks up to my uncle shakes his hand and thanks him for his service. Again he kindly tells him he’s not a veteran and once again points to me and says but she is manager apologized to my uncle gave me a weird look and told us to have a good night. I was a E-2 private serving my country overseas at the age of 18...but I don’t get shown respect because I’m a female. I can promise you I will never be returning to that Olive Garden ever again!!

That is so disrespectful and just works my nerves, just because you’re a female doesn’t mean you should be treated different . My husband is 19 and he’s in a deployment right now and he just joined in April and he won’t return home until July, thank you so much for your service🇺🇸❤️
