You marry the person you love. Unfortunately the family comes with that. We all have issues with family. For years my mil got between my husband and I. He'd get so irritated with her. It took us moving closer to find out she had substance and alcohol abuse problems. We tried to help her. Can't help someone who doesn't want it. She's been out of our lives for a year. Met her granddaughter twice. Texts my husband every so often. Most recent was yesterday. "What did I do to deserve this?" She doesn't get it. It's about her, not what she's put my husband through off and on the past decade. Since letting her go, our relationship is so much better. My family has always welcomed my husband opened arms (he's an only child and his mom a single mom). His extended family is wonderful and we've decided who we want apart of our daughter's life. It took my husband years to figure out what he needed to do. I was there for him through thick and thin and he made the decision on his own when he was ready.

Sadly family comes with the marriage 😂 just block who you got to and keep your distance from everyone else. You’re in it for him, not them, remember that! ❤️

@juliaschade41, ah, well my advice would be to tell him that whatever they say or do makes you uncomfortable. Try not to get involved, but make sure you tell him how you feel about it, nicely 😂 I had to do it with my husband and his mom and it took a little while but he finally stood up for me and haven’t had an issue since. Hoping for the best for you!
