Did anybody else deny the glucose drink ? And the doctors response stress you completely out 😣😑
You're 35 weeks, they should have offered it earlier, so I feel like by now who cares about doing it anyway. Even if you did agree with it
@mami3st2011, a lot of people have there personal reasons . Me I do my research on everything , a lot of sugar on a empty stomach isn’t good for anybody that’s just in general , so that going to my baby and me I’m just not agreeable on that. When they can simply take my blood like they did today and test me before anything goes to my baby . Which some recommend that you prick your finger for a week at home to test your own levels . , now days doctors have to tell you all these possibilities if you don’t take what they require. Which it’s true its many complications .. but then again I’m the type of person that don’t even take medicine when I’m sick . I was freaked about the 3rd ultrasound but it’s required to make sure baby is good and head down and measurements. I just was freaked for a minute lol
@kendallmarieee____ I've never understood why people deny it. Because having gestional diabetes that goes without being monitored or treated if you have trouble controlling them can lead to so many complications, like stillborn, baby growing too big too fast, and baby developing diabetes as well. I mean each to their own but I've never understood it. You just drink the juice and give blood an hour later..
I didn't have insurance at the time, so really wasn't able to pay for all the tests they day you need, and the DS one I didn't really think was 100% necessary, since it didn't change anything. I did the sugar drink, though, because my sister, grandmother, and grandfather, is or were diabetic so I think the risks were higher for me.
The glucose test is to determine if you have GD... nothing harmful to baby, just a little prick/blood draw.. 🤷🏻♀️
@nomli, whoa the doctor said that ???? And I took the blood test and stuff to make sure everything was okay .. the drink I personally don’t agree with . But her response of possibilities stressed me completely out . She ordered me a ultrasound to test her measurements and make sure everything is okay ..... idk if that’s normal on the third tri or because I denied the drink
@kendallmarieee____ understandable. I don't bash anyone for their decisions. I have diabetes in my family so I felt it was definitely necessary for me. I also don't generally take meds unless completely necessary. But if that is what works for you don't let anyone alter your mind. You know?
