So my son will be 2 in February. He talks and knows some words but I don't think as many as he should at his age (yes all kids are different) but he has a binky.. Doctor recommends not to always let him have it that's why he doesn't talk much. So we decided not to let him have it during the day. Only naps and bedtime. Well his dad doesn't keep his work most of the time. Just gives it to him. I made a comment and he said "If I want to give him his binky, I will". I'm really pissed. How would yall feel??

I'd be mad too.

@nomli As parents we need to agree. Its the mature thing to do. Guess he thinks otherwise.

Especially with something like that. Like, I understand letting a treat slide here or there, but this is something that could either help or delay him.

@nomli EXACTLY. He's saying I just like arguing and just need something to bitch about. I'm at my wits end with him.

Ya I'm with you. I took my daughters binky at 1 year. On her birthday I told her she's becoming like a big girl and she can only have it at sleepy times. We have them in a bin that's put up so she doesn't see them and only take one out at nep/bed time for her and when she wakes up we take it and put it up.

@myfirstbaby97 That's what we do too. But today Brentley found one behind the couch. So he rinsed it and gave it to him. I'm like uhh no. His dad was like he seen it and wanted it. So this means whatever Brentley wants Brentley gets? I don't think so.

I would have said "give that to Mommy. And thank you so much for helping mommy find that now we go put it up with the others because your a big boy now and don't use this when you are awake." That's pretty much what I say to my baby girl when she finds one that we lost months ago lol

My son did the same thing but I never took his binky. I never gave it to him either if he didnt have it. He just was slower at developing than my daughter. I was always told most boys tend to be slower than girls at talking and such. He talks too much now. Lol 😉

@morganmommy79 That's fine. Ill love my baby boy no matter what. But his dad isn't helping the situation. And being a total jerk.

My daughter never really took to the pacifier and I'm kind of glad she doesn't care for it. Just turned 1. Has over a dozen words, a few 2 word phrases, 1 3 word phrase and oddly enough answers in the correct context. It's impressive. My husband said last night, "well she definitely has your smarts!"

My son still uses his too and he'll be 2 in January. I've been considering taking it from him when be turns 2. He only really uses it now when he naps or goes to bed... I don't know what he does at his father's with it though... Knowing his father he probably has it constantly because his father is a jerk who can't stand his own son being too noisy.... 😩

@skylersmommy11916 Yeah I wana take it from my son as well. He only uses it for naps and bedtime as well. He has a blanket he carries everywhere so that'll be there to comfort him when I decide to take the binky.

@acesmomma yep mine does too lol
