Does anyone know if anywhere carries pediatric diabetes meters? Would an adult one work? Or??

@randahubbard89 I don't know for sure. But I'd assume the would be the same. Because it just measures blood sugar I don't think age matters.

@mami3st2011, I didn’t think so either,but with my luck I’d buy an adult one and then be like oh she needs a pediatric one 😂

@randahubbard89 and they are not too cheap. But I really don't think it would make a difference.

I know ): insurance will pay for one but it’s cheap and has bad reviews. My husband said we would pay for one money wasn’t an issue but I’m clueless as to what to get and which is going to be as painless as possible for her.

They're all going to hurt a bit. Go for one that uses the least amount of blood possible so you aren't squeezing her finger for too long. How old is she? My sister started using one at 7, and it was the exact same one our grandfather used, so I don't think it matters. She likes the One Touch and Accu Check, I think. She has so many things for diabetes now that I lose track.

@nomli, she’s 2! The stick doesn’t bother her, it’s the squeezing her finger. They popping noise freaks me out and I’m not not sure if I can even stick her 😂 we have been going to the dr and them doing it but they are suggesting us doing it at home. I just don’t want to get the wrong one and it hurt her ):

Awww. Yeah, the squeezing was always the worst. Getting one that uses the tiniest amount of blood possible should help. I'm not sure which one that is, but there are Diabetic groups on Facebook you could join and ask for recommendations, too. Or even the doctor, or the guys at the pharmacy, too.

@randahubbard89 with the meter I have comes the finger pricker thing. And on mine you can adjust the level of deepness of the poke. I usually keep mine on 7 which is the deepest but still a little prick and little hole but I don't have to squeeze my finger.
