Help please to anyone that can relate! I was a smoker before (quite heavy) and went onto the vape when I got pregnant. There's all these things on Google that says it's also pretty bad - what's the best method to quit all together and to anyone that's been on patches, how effective are they? (Looking to go to the non smoking clinic at my gp next week)

I would recommend the patches if used with something else. I used the inhalator but there are many options they will talk through with you. X

I'm not sure if you can use patches whiles pregnant x @marmarmarshaaa

Thankyou Sarah, I've just been to the gp and saw the drop by clinic to stop so I will go next week ( got really nervous typing that post as I know there's a lot of mums/people who frown on the subject all together, sorry guys :( )

@chesscalouise2 @sarahgreenwood1992 I read up on it and it's the nicotine that harms the bab I think, , so I'm on a low dose of nicotine in my vapouriser, my screening and three month scan came back fine but there's still a mountain to go. I told my midwife and she didn't mention much on the subject :s

I was a heavy smoker too, changed to a vape which I was constantly using and my midwife said it was better than smoking so carry on, used it for about 5/6 weeks and got fed up if it so stopped using that...vaping isn’t ideal but still better than cigarettes! X

Thankyou @hayleyf hun, I'll carry on and go check out what other alternatives there are too, but I agree that If it's the nicotine mostly causing harm all substitutes have nicotine so it's a no win...will power is the only answer!💪

@marmarmarshaaa, I thought that it WASNT nicotine that caused the most harm, but all the other crap in cigarettes, although I’m no expert, that’s just what the midwife said to me x

My midwife didn't explain much to me about it...I read a few articles but ciggs contain 40 + toxics where as they don't know exactly what's in some of the vapouriser you buy in shops, so I get mines from Morris on where it seems more legit then the random shops that have it for really cheap. I was surprised when I saw that it was nicotine as I thought that it would be the carbon oxide that was worst (still unsure) but nicotine stops oxygen from being carried or something...lol but saying that you Google something and it has its own topic of discussion lol but I agree that smoking is definitely worst. Another thing is I've just been so tired and had to take time off work and there's lots of mums who have the energy to go to yoga classes etc, how?! Lol do you do any exercises or have any tips on destressig? I feel really sorry for my partner with my hormonal rage sometimes lol @hayleyf thanks lovely x
Marsha Fortune·
It's nicotine AND the carbon monoxide ..so I'm cutting one out and on low dose of nicotine and hopefully will cut it all out together soon @hayleyf

@marmarmarshaaa, if u need to rest then rest...I was so tired at the start, I used to come in from work and have a nap before doing anything. Pregnancy is exhausting but all I can say is don’t push yourself too much x

@marmarmarshaaa, good for you, just keep thinking of your baby, that’s what I tried to do x
