Am I the only one who hates scary Halloween costumes? I don’t think scary costumes are necessary.…

At my mom's school, they had Western Day yesterday. Parents could come join their kid for a Hay ride and snacks. A parent showed up dressed in a complete Texas Chainsaw Massacre attire. At an elementary school. 😤 if my kid went there and I saw that, I'd beat the hell out of him! How inappropriate!

Do you even know what the origin of Halloween is? It's not supposed to be fun and rainbows. It's about blending in with the spirits of the dead to make them welcome since All Hallows Eve is the only day of the year where they can walk to earth. Now days no costumes are scary. If you want to see scary costumes look at some from the early 1900's.

@myfirstbaby97 It's also a Celtic holiday from much farther back than the 1900s.

@raquely this is how we are supposed to be on the day of the dead/all hallows eve. It really makes me mad when people say Halloween isn't supposed to be "scary" like umm yes it is lol please educate yourself before trying to change what a holiday is about

@mississippi.mama I was simply giving a certain time period to look at photos of how we are supposed to dress on the day of the dead. There obviously aren't photos from when All Hallows Eve first came to be.

@myfirstbaby97, yes I do actually know the origins of the holiday. A lot of the gore is unnecessary.
