Guys idk what to do. My son needs to sleep in his crib all night and of course he doesn't cause he's the worst sleeper of all time. But him sleeping with me is getting impossible! He moves all over constantly! I enforce his crib as much as I can but most of the time I'm half asleep and just put him with me but it's getting to the point where I can't have him sleeping with me at all period. I don't know how to break him or myself of this habit we've gotten into. And he still is no where close to sleeping through the night either. I'm lucky to get 4 hours. He'll be in his own room by probably December and idk how that's going to work for us either. I'm pretty sure his dad co sleeps with him to even though he'd never admit it so that doesn't help either. 😫😫😫 I'm so lost with this sleep thing. I've done and do everything and he's just a lousy sleeper. Help! 😴😞

Try some soft of background noise or night light and see if she settles any better, Faye's the same moves like she got ants in her pants, so I put a light fan noise on and she sleeps so much better and doesn't move as much, it was really helpful x

@jessr19895x, I have a white noise machine that I have on and I sleep with a fan on year round :/ his sleeping has always been an issue 😟 but at this point it's just becoming to much. Last night I put him with me and he kept crying and carrying on because I refused to have to hold him to sleep. I'm like you are being ridiculous I am right here next to you! I guess I blame myself and his dad but what could i do I have to sleep too and I'd never get any if I fight him to sleep in his crib all night. I do try but I'm only human and a single mom. 😩 he's only slept through the night like 3-4 times ever and he's 14 months old.

Sounds tiring bless you, at some point he'll have to try and sleep on his own, it's no good for both of you, try a new bedding set new pillow and stuff that could help too, I have to give Faye two pillows now aha she didn't like having one or non xx

@jessr19895x, he has new sheets and he'll be getting his new blankets when his room is all done. I guess kids are just bad sleepers sometimes :/ I do everything to ensure he has a restful nights sleep but he never does :(

@missjess I would start cutting naps. He needs to be sufficiently tired enough to get a full nights sleep and it sounds like hes well rested, because usually kids that age need 12+ hours of sleep daily to grow properly. Also, i would talk to his doctor about it because I know that they have natural sleeping aids for kids now (natural like melatonin) for kids but im not sure exactly what it is, i havent researched it any. Of course, i would try to make sure that st bed time, he is very tired and if co sleeping is the only way to get sleep i would do it because I never had a problem with it, but he is very clingy and you like your personal space.. lol. I feel for you 😞. Its a tough situation to be in, but you habe to work on resolution. Hes still young and has plenty of time before starting school, i know that tires them out quickly.

@simplyshantell, I cut naps! Usually he'll nap early in the day and that's it if that. And I have tried calming tablets and they seemed to work good at first now not so much. I don't give them to him all the time. And usually he goes to bed around 830-9 which by then he should be really tired with the late morning nap. Sigh it's a struggle his doctor doesn't think anything of it and I take him to s chiropractor to help and that doesn't help either. I've exhausted my resources. I've moved dinner time earlier ( most days) to see if that helps. I know he's teething so idk if that's causing an issue too. I hate to give him ibuprofen every night when during the day it doesn't seem like he's bothered with his teething... Idk :/

@missjess If he doesnt seem bothered by teething, I would say its safe to say he's not up on that note. I would make sure to lay down with him in a dark room... no night lights as certain night lights actually stop the production of melatonin. I'd let him stay up late, no bed time just let him fall asleep when hes tired and see if that helps him stay asleep longer. One very short nap, an hour tops, early in the day.

@simplyshantell, yeah his nap time is typically around 10am and he sleeps any where from an hour to 2 hours. But he naps with me cause usually I need that nap too. But at night time he's always put in his crib. I'm going to turn off everything at night when he goes to sleep except his white noise machine. And typically I get him ready for bed when he gets whiney and like he's ready to sleep.

I know you tried it but I cut my sons nap from 2 to 1. So he gets a nap at 11am and sleeps till about 1 then goes to bed at 8. He was co sleeping with me for awhile to because I was so tired I would just put him in with me but I did tough love for 2 weeks. Everytime he wanted out I would put him right back in. I would lay him back down and put my hand on his back gently and let him know I was there. I did it for two weeks straight. Barely got any sleep from having to keep putting him back down. But eventually he got the hint! Also let him sit in his crib and walk out of the room, babies need their alone Time to. Before nap I'll put him in there and he will talk and do whatever until he falls asleep in it. Then I let him sit there for a half hour after he wakes up. It gives them time to adjust. It really helped. He now sleeps the whole night in his crib and takes his naps with no issues at all. I put him in when he's awake so he learns to go to sleep on his own. So that way if he does wake up in the night, he knows how to put himself back to sleep.
