So are all premature babies kept in nicu, or something has to be wrong...mainly the 34-37 weekers

Depends my daughter was born at 36 weeks and never went in but my niece was in it at 35 weeks and she didn’t really anything wrong

It all depends on if they can breathe on their own and all their organs are functioning. My son was born at 37 weeks and he didn’t have to be in it.

@db413, 37 weeks is considered full term though, I’m talking about the 34-37 mark...

I know before 36 weeks at my hospital you get sent to another hospital too i dont know if that helps and also some drs don’t consider full turn till 39 weeks now they are always changing things

@mommysbabies, here in Michigan it’s 37 I just don’t feel like I’ll go all the way but I really don’t wanna leave my child after having her

My son was born at 37w3d and was full birth weight and length and didn’t have any breathing problems

My first two were born at 36 weeks and were fine

My son stayed for 4 days just due to low calcium born at 35weeks but either than that no they don’t go there if everything is fine with them

@apryls194, I think it varies by dr. Not just state. But I’m not sure though.

Mine was born at 36 weeks and spent a week in the nicu because he didn’t know how to breathe on his own
