What were the signs that you had preeclampsia?
@breloya, I wake up in the morning with sausage fingers and a headache. And I just don't feel good and I'm super tired and out of breath lately.
High blood pressure, fluid retention so bad that I couldn't fit any of my shoes and had to wear flip flops to my doctor's appt. My fingers, ankles, wrists were all swollen with water retention. I also had headaches constantly, but thought it was normal because it's something I get normally. I also was struggling with my bp the whole last half of my pregnancy, so the high bp wasn't concerning at the moment either. The swelling came on quickly though. That happened within like 2 days. One minute, I was normal, next I looked like a balloon. But I knew swelling at the end of pregnancy was normal as well, so I wasn't worried. I just so happened to have an appt that day and when I went in, that's when panic started. I was already overdue and then suddenly had preeclampsia. Don't ignore any signs! ❤ and occassionally, I'd have like specks in my vision. Like if you look up at bright lights or the sun.
Super tired and out of breath are completely normal lol. And sadly, will probably be your norm until you deliver. The headaches may come from needing to hydrate and/or eat. I have headaches when I wake up until I eat and drink water. Sausage fingers, if they go away, don't sound too worrisome. Some swelling in pregnancy is very normal. Edema is from extra blood flow and extra water, usually happens in your hands, feet, ankles, and some in their legs. Of course mention all of this to your doctor at your next appt, but to me, it doesn't sound worrisome.
